Griffin’s Nicaragua Special Edition 2016

“Griffin’s Nicaragua Special Edition’s blend of Nicaraguan, Dominican and Honduran tobaccos will take aficionados on a journey to the spicier side of life and pushes their taste and complexity boundaries to new limits,” declares Charles Awad, Senior Vice President Global Marketing & Innovation at Oettinger Davidoff AG.

Taste profile

The Griffin’s Nicaragua Special Edition 2016 delights with its rich and complex character.

Inspired by the night, this Edition 2016 delivers a pronounced spiciness arising from the Nicaraguan and Honduran tobaccos. The taste experience happens at the back of the palate, beginning with rich aromas. Soon, bitter chocolate, sweet corn and oak wood flavours deliver a fascinating creamy aftertaste. An exciting composition of aged Dominican Honduran and Nicaraguan premium tobaccos underlines the status of a Griffin’s Special Edition: the blend combines a shiny and veinless Dominican wrapper, a San Vicente binder from the Dominican Republic and filler tobaccos from Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. These tobaccos are very oily and make the cigar an ideal candidate to collect and age. The draw is perfect, with a sharp combustion and a beautiful white ash.

These cigars should be enjoyed during a cocktail or aperitif, or after a light dinner.

The cigars also bear a black main ring with the Griffin’s hot foiled in chili red to perfectly match with the oily wrapper.

About the Griffin’s jar
The cigars are presented in a beautiful humidified jar that will delight aficionados and jar collectors. Tests have shown that by adding a bit of water to the humidifier, the humidity remained constant for four months. Only 3500 jars will be brought to market worldwide.
The official launch of the Griffin’s Nicaragua Special Edition 2016 jar with 25 cigars is set for October/November 2016, after which it will be available worldwide (USA excluded) at Davidoff Flagship stores, selected tobacco retailers and Global Travel Retail stores.

About Griffin’s
Griffin’s Cigars were created by Bernard Grobet in 1984 at his private Club “The Griffin’s” in Geneva and have been produced in the Dominican Republic ever since. With aficionados’ rising demand, the cigars were sold successfully, first in Switzerland, then in the US and later globally.
In 1992, Bernard Grobet sold the brand to Oettinger Davidoff AG in Basel, Switzerland, which began to distribute “The Griffin’s” worldwide and has been continuously developing new cigar lines for the brand ever since.
